little more done on my RR. Wow, it was a busy week. Here is the basted outline of mine. there is a little area of a couple inches that shows what the border will be like around all the basted areas... My fabric is Enchanted Fabrics Witches Brew Linen 32ct. In the center of the layout will be Barbara Ana's Haunted Halloween House and on either side of the house cute Halloween sayings.

Question about my Spooky House?
I'm hoping that no one will mind, but some one will have a smaller area to stitch. That person will get to stitch inside the roof sections. The roof is in two smaller areas. I'm not gonna stitch the tombstones until everyone is finished! I'll plan to add everyone's initials to each tombstone. I need to find a tombstone pattern first. I am loving this idea!
Hope everyone has a great day!

A Halloween/Autumn Neighborhood
I hope this is OK with everyone... I have decided that I want my RR to be a Halloween/Autumn neighborhood. I am just still searching for the perfect fabric. I will include some charts to help you out.... if you cannot find a house that is specifically Halloween, that is fine - a house with pumpkins, scarecrows, black cats, etc would be wonderful!
I am very much looking forward to this starting - thanks, Donna, for sending the mailing rotation today ;-)

I think this is my fabric And a Question
This is just a picture of it from Enchanted Fabrics, I am hoping it will arrive today or tomorrow. It is a 32ct belfast. Now as far as a plan, ummm, my creative section of my brain is temporarily shut down, but I'll work on it this week..:)..
Okay now the question... I know many of you stitch more serious subjects and may not be into cute for Halloween. I have a lot of cute Halloween and I have serious Halloween. Since I was thinking of using this RR in my daycare, I was thinking of going cute. Would you hate stitching cute? Be honest. I won't be offended at all, LOL. I understand..

My linen arrives!

Ahhhh! Help!!
Okay, since my RR is going to be more fall themed I have decided that I would like to try to use LHN's Acorn Hill as the center design. However, I am having a few problems.
First - The pattern calls for CC Belle Soie Silk threads. If I stitch the design in silks, will my RR look silly if others use cottons?
Second - I'd love to stitch it in cottons. Does anyone have the pattern and know if there is a conversion on it for other threads?
Third - I can't find a place ANYWHERE that sells the recommended Lakeside Linens Vintage Lentil linen... in ANY count, let alone 32. I will need a piece that is atleast 25 x 14. I am open to other fabrics, but I am HORRIBLE at picking them.
I spent about 4 hours designing a 9 squared layout yesterday, but I have decided I do not like it. I didn't leave a place anywhere for names and locations :( I have decided I would like a sampler type design in the center of my piece with 4 squares on each side. Maybe I should forget the Acorn Hill pattern altogether and pick another design. The only thing is that the design needs to be about 130 long by atleast 50 wide.
Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions? Thank you!

Vonna's Spooky RR
Hello Fellow Spooky Stitchers!
I've spent the last 4+ hours working on graphing out/laying out my Halloween RR and I think it is FINISHED!!! (well the graphing - that is... I still have to do the fabric layout and block bastings...and the stitching too but....I'm not thinking about that YET!)
I have a stained this 32 ct. linen to use for the RR:
And my contribution to the RR is going to be the center block as the Crow with the Witches hat on that says "Trix or Treat" and then above that I'm stitching the "Merry Halloween" as seen in this photos of the cover and interior page of Blackbird Designs book "Trix or Treat":

Then I have around these two stacked central squares a "U" shape with 4 side squares (2 on each side) that measures 50W x 50H with a 50W x 10H "signature block" beneath each square. And then the across the bottom of the RR (forming the U) is 3 blocks that measure 60W x 60H with a 60W x 10H signature block below each square.
Framing the whole "DEAL" is a primitive border that I think I'm going to do in a dark blackish color.
And then hang it in my foyer on my quilt rack for my seasonal displays! HURRAY! Think it will all come together? I sure do hope so!
Thanks for looking ;) I love it when my ideas firm up into something tangible!

And the scary stitchers are......drumroll please!
Edgar, Ulla, Terry, Hannah, Shelley, Carol, Vonna and myself!!!
That's 8 stitchers, so everyone can plan out their linens now!
The rules are: Halloween or Fall Related(Hannah wants Fall-so I said ok for her) Please let me know, I'm gonna add a side bar that shows what each stitcher wants their rr to be! Mine will totally be spooky, scary Halloween!!!!!!
The stitching size will be 60 x 60, this means, if you want to stitch something 50x 50, that's ok, as long as it's ok with each stitchers linen piece. Or you could stitch a center square and have friends add around that design. The sky's the limit on this! Just make sure you buy plenty of linen for your rr.
You can use either 28 or 32 count. I'm leaving this open to each stitcher to choose what they like. I've found this awesome hand dyed, but it's only in 28. I must have that for mine!!!!!!
I'll email the rotation and addresses to everyone later this week.
Our first mailing date will be July 15th. That should give everyone a chance to get linens, and stitch the beginnings of your Halloween RR!
Thanks to each one for signing up! I'm thrilled to have Vonna and Terry stitching with me! I've received awesome stitching from both these ladies!
Well, Dracula wants a snack........haha!
